Around the world, each country is or has been in quarantine/ lockdown, and we have all been adjusting to the new “normal” of staying at home, not seeing loved ones except those in your household, and wearing masks & gloves in public.

Recently in the uk, the PM has relaxed lockdown a little so i took up that opportunity and went into my local town. While I was in town I took some pictures and thoughts on how the atmosphere felt. The entire time I was there it felt so abandoned and apocalyptic, as well as that it was quiet and strange, there was barely anyone there. I have never seen it so quiet and empty.

Our society and world has changed so much, for example, a year ago today people were enjoying life out and about, on beaches, going shopping, or even spending time with family. But today people are spending the hot summer’s day in their homes or gardens as well as being cautious about hygiene or whether or not that you are 2 meters apart from someone.

These photos show the reality of what our new Normal is. They show how our life is at the minute, how much has changed since this lockdown. These aren't my best pictures at all and there's so much I can improve on the image, I could improve the compositions of my images so much more than I did. These were taken on my iphone 8+ instead of a camera, so the quality of the images isn’t the best.

How much more can change? Is this the new normal?
